80 to 68 pin SCSI converter

Close-up of a 68 to 80 pin (or vice-versa…) SCSI converter board, seen from the 68 pin side. Taken in Albany, CA by a Nikkormat FT2 with a Micro-Nikkor 55mm ƒ3.5 lens on Kodak Portra 400NC. Negative scanned into computer by an HP G4010. Dust removal, color and gamma correction done in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Cropped to eliminate excess background.

This is 1:3 (I.E. 1/3 life size) on the film plane… and taken from a range of about 14 inches…

Fujitsu 73 Gb SCSI drive

Fujitsu 73 Gb SCSI drive

Fujitso 73 Gb Scsi drive, now drive Y: in my main (I have 3…) computer, with an 80 to 68 pin converter sub-board. (68 pin side shown) Taken in Albany, CA by a Nikkormat FT2 with a Micro-Nikkor 55mm ƒ3.5 AI lens on Kodak Portra 400NC. Negative scanned into computer by an HP G4010, dust removal, color and gamma correction done in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.

I call this side the "top" — not that the drive needs to be mounted this side up! It can be mounted (according to the manufacturer’s literature) any of four ways… either side up horizontally, or either side up vertically…

SCSI 68 pin internal con

The business end of a SCSI 68-pin internal connector, attached to its ribbon cable. Taken in Albany, CA by a Nikon N75 with a Micro-Nikkor 55mm ƒ3.5 lens on Fujicolor Superia Xtra 800. Negative scanned into computer by an HP G4010. Dust removal, color and gamma correction done in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.

Taken at 1:1on the film plane, the connector is really 1 7/8 inches across the end closest to camera, this photo is about 3x life size as seen on my monitor screen (where it’s 5 3/8 inches…) (according to my math, that’s 2.8666…x life size…) My monitor is a 17’" CRT at 1280×1024…

Termination Connector

Termination Connector

Heh, you said “single-ended” … I popped this startlingly heavy duty SCSI terminator off the backside of a Silicon Graphics Iris workstation that’s been gather dust (and unfortunately rust) in my garage for several years.
