A dark and foreboding interior corridor; what caught my eye here are the luminous footprints in the dust and broken glass…it appears as if someone was intentionally sliding each foot along, leaving these ghostly prints.
It was very eerie inside this building, and it left me feeling uncomfortable. Every pane of glass, every light fixture that could be reached, was broken. Blackboards were torn off the walls. The computer room looked like a tornado had passed through it. An unbelievable degree of hormonal rage was directed at this facility, which I suppose was intended to send a message to someone? Didn’t these kids have any good memories associated with this place? What triggered these Lord of the Flies destructive impulses? And why did the surrounding neighborhood not intervene? The degree of destruction here is not something which transpired on one occasion: it required many hours to have wrought this damage. There are houses nearby, but no one phoned authorities. Baffling, and a sad statement about humanity in general.
