I got my real camera out and worked a shot out. A real shot, it was good. Unfortunately, it’s been long enough since I used the camera that I have absolutely no idea where the USB cable is, unless it’s at work somewhere.
During my hunting in the pile of my clothes (not a comic exaggeration: really, all my clothes), under the couch (bottle of Dr. Pepper and bottle of Coopers; flouro tube, starter, and cover; phonebooks), under the bed (a book I forgot I was reading; n boarding pass stubs; an alarm clock; something I really should’ve sent to someone back when it was a good idea to do so, sigh), on my desk (my passport — but I did at least know it was somewhere on my desk; three SD cards and an RS-MMC card, not that I have a reader in a computer that isn’t at work; my battery charger; my rechargable batteries; my camera bag; my group certificate from Canonical; more boarding passes; the receipt for my residence permit renewal, which I really need; more batteries; the board and case from my old DSL modem; four thousand mint packets I got from the ferry; business cards; crumbs and dust ad infinitum; six bottles of deodorant, five empty; the best pencil on the planet ever; an RS-MMC -> full MMC adaptor; my first set of spare keys), under my desk, in my heater (medal from the European championships of Australian Rules football), in my cupboard (chargers for devices I haven’t turned on since, er, 2001; the camera manual, the camera TV-out cables; my second spare key, which I didn’t knew I had), the table beside the chair I haven’t sat on in months (a glass that was in plain sight, for god’s sake), and in my coffee table (my group certificate from NEC), I didn’t find it. Bah.
So, that shot waits until tomorrow, and today you get a look under my wonderful couch. And a sneak peek of what’s to come.

i had this cool 70s couch sitting in my studio… i covered it in plastic, so that any dust in my studio from making canvases and stuff, wouldn’t ruin it. i’m cleaning out my studio room, so i got my brother to help me move my couch in my bedroom for now.. as a little sitting area. there’s already a couch in the tv/computer room, so i didn’t need two in there… this was my parent’s couch when they bought the house i grew up in in 1970. my dad built the house and they did it spanish style, having the sucken living room with red carpet, white furniture and black iron type sculpture things on the wall. they even had a sculpture of a man in armor type thing, sitting in the corner of the room, where this white couch sat.
my mom wanted to throw this couch out and i insisted that i buy it from her, so now i have it. it’s like a white velvety type material and when you sit on it, you kinda goosh down in it. those are the best couches and they don’t seem to make them like that anymore!

Don’t worry, after next week you won’t need to see my face plastered on your screen every week. Next week I’ll be taking the last installment for my 52-week project. Exciting that the project is finally drawing to a close. Sad that a year has already gone by so quickly.
Check out Melissa and Art’s streams! They’re awesome photographers, and they’ve just finished their respective 52’s this week! I’ll join the club soon. As a matter o’ fact, it’s these two crazies that inspired me to get this year long project going to begin with! 🙂
One week with the high schoolers, and I’ve already fallen ill to the cold. Odd how in Physiology the students just finished learning about pathogens, viruses … well, basic immunology I guess. Irony at it’s best (worst?). It’s time for me to load up on Airborne, and orange juice!
Just the other day, my brother and I blew the dust off of our old SNES (remember this!?) gaming console. So G. We used to play games on this thing when I was still four feet tall! I am now 5’7.5" now, mind you! We have some of the hottest games from the time when the SNES was the rage. Megaman, Contra, STG, Bomberman, Gunforce, SmashTV, it goes on and on! It’s long been forgotten, as many people today prefer their XBoxes, PS3’s, Wii’s (I’m guilty as charged), and computers. I miss having simple gaming controllers like the one for the SNES.
Lemme ‘splain it to ya. An SNES controller has six buttons you need to use … though most games only require the use of four of them. I’ve tried playing games at friends houses on the PS3, and XBoxes. I failed terribly. Mainly because I could never remember the functions of the 48 buttons on the frickin’ control. What are we doin’ -tryin’ a split an atom!?
I much prefer the simpler, classic games. Street Fighter II, anyone? Im’a open a can on you! 🙂
I’ll be away for most of the extended weekend, however I greatly look forward to catching up on your streams when I return!
Have a safe Labor Day weekend all! Toast ’em up!
Strobist geeks, read on!

Stay tuned for next weeks

We are friends and I do like to pass the day with you in serious and inconsequential chatter. I wouldn’t mind washing up beside you, dusting beside you, reading the back half of the paper while you read the front. We are friends and I would miss you, do miss you and think of you very often.
