Following my recent hard drive failure, I’ve been digging around in my computer. I’m starting to think that I might have an idea why my computer has been getting hot recently.
This image is was taken with my long telephoto lens using it’s macro focusing mode. The large, strangely shaped thing on the right is the CPU cooler. It’s enormous! It has a 120mm fan *inside* it which, when it’s not caked in dust, does a respectable job at keeping the CPU cool without making too much noise. The copper block with "BYTE" on it is the heatsink for either the North or South bridge (I think). In either case, it now has less dust on it than it did when I took this shot!
