Beep Beep!

Beep Beep!

The roadrunner landscape, Baja California. Well, maybe just California, the roads were better there and there were also lots of cliffs, which I didn’t saw here.

We got a ride to get to the beach, and to leave the beach, I should try it more often, its fun and cheap. The guy on the way there told us a story about him traveling around the world hitchhiking, also something about catching rides in the sailing boats cities… which sounded quite interesting, now he has a stable job and doesn’t travel that much. He looked young, he said it’s because he had a relaxed life. Inspiring.

Again highly saturated colours, I stop using them since I saw my photostream in another computer and didnt like it, but, i rather see them the way I do in my laptop 🙂

Opuntia TPSP 2k

Opuntia TPSP 2k

An Opuntia sp? cactus growing near the Visitor’s Center of the Torrey Pines State Reserve. Taken by an Olympus OM-1MD with a Zuiko 50mm ƒ1.8 lens on Kodak Portra 400NC. Negative scanned into computer by an HP G4010. Dust removal, color and gamma correction done in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.

Slight blue discoloration on the right side of this shot is a processing goof, also seen in other shots on this roll.

Apache Trail Mountain Vista

Apache Trail Mountain Vista

I uploaded this in February ’07 after taking it in December ’06 because, when I took it, it had so many spots from sensor dust and I didn’t have the patience to blot out all the spots in postprocessing. I doubled my system memory from 1 GB to 2 GB RAM, though, and decided to use my computer’s increased responsiveness to fix this beautiful photo and post it, finally, on Flickr.

Abracadabra, your data is gone

Abracadabra, your data is gone

Taken for Macro Mondays, this week’s theme: Abracadabra

Another drive bites the dust… This one was only 4 years old, pretty much to the day. It’s failure was near instant and recovery didn’t look like much of a reality. Thankfully, it was only my Time Machine backup disk, but still… I have a 250GB LaCie drive that is nearing 7 years old and it is still spinning (nothing important kept on it, obviously)

If your computer or main hard drive(s) were to fail today, would you be prepared?
