We made it through severe rain and lateral wind from St. Louis to the Arkansas border where the rain let off a bit. This was the storm that continued in St. Louis and southern Missouri that inundated many areas and rivaled the flood of 1992. More on that later.
We however, made it safely. After checking in to our hotel, we hit the French Quarter for dinner. After a brief walk down Bourbon Street, the dust and mental detritus of a Midwest mired and winter drowsy cerebellum drifted away. The Bourbon Street atmosphere that normally has enough stimulation to overload a 13 year old, ADHD, computer game addict, made me smile with relaxation and renewed energy. Objective # one accomplished, it was time to hit # 2: oysters.
